Purpose: What is the "Seal of Approval"?
"The I.R.O.C.2 Safety Lab's "Seal of Approval" is awarded to websites which excel in providing helpful and 21st Century safe and responsible information to internet users.
Eligibility guidelines:
* 21st Century Responsibility - Do not utilize malicious software, malware, or deceptive practices
- Maintain a qualified and visible Privacy Policy
- Do not permit SPAM
- Age verified public areas (social sites, bulletin boards, chat rooms, etc)
* 21st Century Safe - Child Safe
- No Adult Or Pornographic Content
- No Illegal Content or Practices
- No Tobacco or Alcoholic Products / Promotion
- No unmonitored social areas (i.e. chat rooms, social sites, message boards, etc)
* Educational - Any type of Educational Information for Global Citizens of all ages
- Edu-tainment Related Content
- Reading Materials & Reference
* Online & Digital Community Services - Community Events Sites
- Arts & Humanities
- Business Services
- Cooking
- Family Entertainment Websites
- Finance
- Home, Garden and Cooking
- Internet Safety Sites and Services
- Legal Services
- Maps & Directions
- Multimedia (Music, Movies, Images, Gaming)
- News & Gossip
- Online & Digital Safety Related Sites
- Restaurants and Food Services
- Retail Stores
- School Websites
- Theme Park, Travel and Tourism Websites and Services
* EMS, Law Enforcement, Government and Safety Sites
- Any legitimate EMS, Law Enforcement, Government and Safety Site available to Global Citizens of all ages.
Sites that are not eligible:
* Adult sites, casino or gambling sites, prescription drug sites, linkfarms, sites hosted on free servers, sites that may be offensive to our viewers, political sites, sites that promote violence, hate or discrimination
* Sites that link to or advertise any of the above
* Sites that contain inappropriate language, photos or images
* Sites that are under construction or incomplete with broken links
* Sites that use Black Hat SEO techniques
Sites that are awarded the "Seal of Approval" agree to:
* Display the "Seal of Approval" image and link the "Seal of Approval" image to the following URL: http://www.iroc2.org/safe_website_directory.html
* The location of the "Seal of Approval" is voluntary, but we recommend that it be placed prominently on your homepage or one click from your homepage to show visitors that your site has been awarded for excellence.
General:
* Site owner or webmaster agrees to remove the "Seal of Approval" image and link if the site is no longer eligible or is asked by "The Safety Lab" to remove it.

| Nomination Process:
1. You may only nominate your own site and a non-refundable, tax deductible donation of $5.00 US NET is requested for each website nominated to cover our nonprofit's resources required to thoroughly review your website. Your very generous donation can be made here:
2. All sites must meet the criteria stated on this page.
3. Email the following information to our Safety Lab by clicking HERE.
* Site owner name
* Paypal's Donation Confirmation number and Contributor Name Used
* Company name or name of the site
* Short description of site
* URL of site
* URL of the page where the "Seal of Approval" will be displayed
* If you are sending a nomination for a product, please send product name, product description, web site where we can review the product, and a description of how you will be using the "Seal of Approval" (print media, newsletter, web site, etc.)
Application review and approval notification:
* When we receive a nomination, we will review the site to determine if it meets our eligibility guidelines. This review process may take up to 60+ days.
* If we determine the site meets our eligibility guidelines and find that it should be awarded the "Seal of Approval", the site owner will be notified by email. The email will include instructions on how to obtain your "Seal of Approval" image.
* Please note that we reserve the right to refuse awarding the "Seal of Approval" for any or for no reason at all. We will not notify you if the site is not approved for the award, and we cannot refund your donation as it is used to fulfill the review of your website.
* If you have not received an approval notification by email within 60 days of the original nomination, you may reapply if the site content has changed or you think the site was mistakenly overlooked (without a new donation).
* If your site has been approved for the seal your site will be included on our approved sites page.
