INSTITUTE FOR RESPONSIBLE ONLINE AND CELLPHONE COMMUNICATION

MTV Honored for The Thin Line Campaign

National Institute for Responsible Online and Cell-Phone Communication (IROC2) inducts MTV into its Hall of Heroes as it honors MTV with their prestigious 2.1C Award of Excellence for being a leader in proactive digital responsibility.

(Manhattan) – MTV was honored on Wednesday June 2, 2010 with the “Responsibility 2.1C Award of Excellence” by the Institute for Responsible Online and Cell-Phone Communication (I.R.O.C.2). I.R.O.C.2, an organization on a mission to construct a global digital community free of negative and sometimes irreversible consequences resulting from poor digital judgment, was prompted to recognize MTV for their innovative and creative execution of The Thin Line Campaign developed to empower our youth to identify, respond to, and stop the spread of digital abuse in their life and amongst their peers.

“We at the Institute for Responsible Online and Cell-Phone Communication commend MTV for proactively raising the importance of digital responsibility and awareness through a platform that speaks to, and not at our youth.” Richard Guerry, the Executive Director of I.R.O.C2 said. “By starting and encouraging a peer based and interactive dialogue between industry experts and citizens regarding detrimental digital issues, MTV has shown that they are determined to do more than just "report" on negative trends facing our youth, rather, they are working to face the challenges head on!"
