Students will learn and lead a discussion on the reasons why it is important to be smart when taking pictures with digital tools.
Lesson 2: Text Messaging (Focus on Cyber Bullying and Cruelty) - Sample Page
Students will learn the Smarts and Dangers of sending and receiving text messages from both strangers and friends. Students will be guided towards understanding why it is important to have the appropriate understanding of the dangers of using digital technology such as text messaging.
Lesson 3: Creating and Sharing (Focus on Creating and Sharing Videos) - Sample Page
Students will share movie ideas that are appropriate according to Public and Permanent™. Students will discuss appropriate movie creations and create their own movie production.
Lesson 4: Social Media (Focus on False Expectations of Privacy) - Sample Page
Students will learn how information on social media websites can be shared quickly and easily with anyone in the world.
Lesson 5: Status Updates (Focus on Over Sharing) - Sample Page
Students will learn the importance of creating a status update in the past tense as well as learn what information should be readily shared. After reading and discussing safety smarts of status updates, students will create a status update while posing as the school’s mascot.
Lesson 6: 21st Century Golden Rule (Focus on Using Digital Tools and Citizenship) - Sample Page
Students will learn the term, “Golden Rule of the 21st Century” and apply it to what they know about the use of digital tools.
